How old is an eye laying pullet?

We are looking to purchase pullets so we don't have to wait for them to grow and lay eggs but we're seeing all different ages of pullets for sale.

What age should they be to know they will be laying?

Pullets are female chickens under one year of age.
Depending on breed and time of year, they begin laying at about 20 -24 weeks. Some will lay earlier, some wait much longer.
