How old is this Cockerel?

Thanks for your input! I'll check my flock for any pests today.
I've seen some beautiful pullets and roosters listed on here and other sites, but the thought of having to keep them separated from the flock stops me from getting them. The only time I might consider it is if I were getting a couple of new birds at once.

This rooster came from a free ranging flock of 16 and there weren't any visible signs of pests or disease but I definitely made a mistake. I'll just hope for the best when I check later when I have time.

Vitamins and things won't assist againt a virus, unfortunately. Just observe.
Well, guys. I checked my flock for any signs of mites and stuff. I have 4 7 weeks olds and of them, 3 of the darker colored ones, I can see tiny white dots that occasionally move. They are very tiny, the same size as some preened bits of pinfeathers. The white chick probably had them too. There are very few of them, like 10-20 on the entire body. I checked the base of feathers, vent area, under wings, nothing too alarming. Only very few at the very surface. I sprayed them all over with the Poultry Protector and bought some diatomaceous earth and sprinkled a little all over their run. I checked a few of the sort of adult not laying yet hens and my black silkie rooster. They don't seem to have them. I will probably create a thread on the pests and predators page later. I also checked the new rooster and I don't see the "mites" on him. He IS most light colored so that doesn't help. Any idea on what the mites might be? They don't look like any of the common poultry mites or lice or fleas. Thank you so much Redinator, you helped me see this before it got bad. I will definitely have to treat the whole flock.

Diotomaeceous Earth and poultry protector will not treat mites, you're going to need a permethrine based powder or spray.
All birds are going to have a little bugs.

I didn't mean to upset/alarm you. I just dealt with a coccidiosis outbreak with a new batch of chicks, so I'm still a bit on edge with this sort of thing.

As for a name . . .do you have theme for your flock, or just name them based on personality/looks?

Its ok, you didn't alarm me, you helped me a lot and I'm very grateful! I don't really have a theme for a name. Just something short and cute is nice.
