How old should a BO be before processing?

Good Morning,

I think it depends on how you want to cook them... fryers get processed earlier than roasters. Some folks will process at 12 weeks for fryers.... 15 to 18 for roasters.... they build bone structure and then put on meat mass. At 12 weeks they won't be real meaty, but will be tender

I process by 5 months!

They get alittle more meat on them: I put in crock pot with 2 cups water & 1 envelope of onion soup mix!
