I have a Beautiful Americauna Rooster but he is young, My 7yr old americauna hen is wanting to hatch more babies her last set was when the nieghbors rooster got through the fence, I had Mutts, but Is she too old to hatch chicks she still lays every day for me. But I want some purebreds out of her to keep her line going, And I have a sharp looking roster to put with her need advise on putting her with the roo, and how old he will have to be. Thanks in advance for input on this.

Mine is almost 23 weeks and he just started doing his business this week. If your hen is truly broody, she won't be laying any eggs, so you won't get anything out of her anyway.

I would go ahead and put the two together now. At her age, she's got a mind of her own, and though you WANT chicks from that pair, she may not want him. Give them time to get use to each other so you'll have a better chance of success with the chicks.
