I usually like to guess earlier then later because I always think it's fun to guess. For my silkies I usually start guessing at around 3 months to 4 months. And so far the genders I have guessed were all correct!

I just want to guess for fun too! I do not really know how old "peanut"
is, I know at least over a month, (that is how long I have owned him/her.

The best time to try &sex silkies is 4-5 mos. of age. Though some can keep you guessing till the crow or lay eggs.

I agree--some can be sexed at 8 weeks. The breeder I got my pullet from had her sexed at 8 weeks as she does with all of her Silkie youngsters.

Here's my Silkie at 9.5 weeks and again at 8 weeks. They change quickly. She is a bearded one, of course.
