My chicks are almost 6 weeks old. I’m still putting them in the brooder box at night since they’ve only been out with the adults for about 5 days now. I was late getting them in tonight and they are roosted with the hens! This roost is about 4’ high with another roost about 3’ that they use to get to the top one. 3 chicks are on the lower roost, but this one decided she belongs at the top! I’m worried they might fall or get pushed off. Should I just leave them be?

This might sound stupid, but do chickens all need to roost? Mine currently sleep on a shelf, slat footed. Should I install a roost?
