I'm 21 and still living with my parents...Though in my defense, I will tell you - first off, I am a college student. Second, we have a full running horse farm that I need to care for (this includes giving lessons, caring for boarder's horses, my horses and the lesson horses ect). This is my exchange for living here...They don't charge me rent or board for the horses that are mine, but I am required to help around the house and work the farm full time. I also pay for just about everything except for my car. It would be VERY hard to move out (closest apartment I could find was a 1/2 hr away) and run the farm. Also have 2 other jobs on top of all this...So at least I can say I'm not the lazy moocher. I'm planning on saving up enough money until I know I could afford to live on my own...Can't right now...Not with how expensive everything is...My last words for this - I am not planning on living with them forever. Just can't afford to move out yet!
graduated high school at 17, moved out that same month. lived on my own until 19 when i was in a bad car accident, recovered. moved out and have been out ever since.
I started working at 15, worked part time at a deli. landed a job at a printing company at 16, worked over 40 hours a week while finishing up high school. never went to college.

Sounds like helping your folks on the farm is more advantageous for them then you moving out. Go w/ it. Maybe they consider your work as their rent. Not a bad way to live.
Geeber:
That is basically what it works out to be...I work, and not have to pay! Fair deal! We both make out pretty well.
We're hoping to get an indoor riding arena within the next 2 years, so I have been asking if they could put a "live in help" apartment above the viewing room...I'm fine with small, and I love my farm, so that would be perfect until I find the guy I'm supposed to be with, get married, and I'm hoping to find land close by (seeing how this farm is going to be my full time job by the time we get there!!)...
I left home at 15 & moved to "the most dangerous city in the world". Wouldn't recommend it. I survived by luck & once I was on my feet a few years, I left the country & moved to the war zone instead
23 The day I the married. (Dec 11th) Were still married. I wasn't allowed to move out, and I if I had I knew that I wouldn't be allowed to come back if I needed to. I would have moved out if I had ever made more than minimum wage. I didn't figure out how to pay for college. So here I am completely dependent on DH, and now not able to work at all. I move to slow.
