How old will chickens start to crow?

My 13 week old boys started about a week ago, one I think two weeks ago. Hatched 7 and it's been obvious for a few weeks that 6 are boys.

i haven't heard a crow yet from my 7 week olds but i do have some very red and pronounced combs and waddles and thought i heard something that sounded like a crow yesterday

Crowing - usually after 12 weeks, although there are sometimes early bloomers.

Another thing you can do is watch their combs and for wattles. That is usually an early sign that a chick may be a roo. If it's 7 weeks old and the comb is red (or turing red) it is a roo. A hen's comb normally does not change color until they are ready to start laying. (aprox. 18-22 weeks -give or take 2 weeks)

Good luck!

10.86 weeks (seriously), I have a SQL query that computes the age of my chicks for me (I'm a Database Administrator).

One of mine just started crowing. Well he needs some practice, but he's got the cock-a-doodle part down if a little hoarse.
