How Quickly They Have Grown
Like the sun rises and sets,
like time on the clock ticks,
like fuzz turns to feathers,
no longer peeps,
only Hen's and Roosters.
With in such a very short time my small group have gone from soft fluffy chicks to beautiful feathered fowl.
Just 14 weeks ago I was watching over my tiny soft charges, double checking the temperature, making sure they were not cold or too hot. I would look in on them throughout the day and evening, always refreshening there food and water, cleaning there bedding and cupping each one in my hands. To day the peeps are Hens and Roosters, and have started laying eggs or crowing in the early morning sun.
I have had so much fun watching them run around in a circle when first let out for a days run. I lost two of my lovely hen's and will be getting four new pullet peeps as soon as the weather is cooler.
Here are some pictures of my Chickens, I hope you'll enjoy them.
Here are my young chickens at the age of 9 weeks.

It has been just 14 weeks and to tell you the truth, I have had more fun with what some would call dumb chickens. I call them intelligent fowl. There will be many years to enjoy these wonderful birds. So what if people call me a Chicken lover.
BYC has helped me learn how to care for and choose what breeds are best for me. Thank you BYC for this Web site and all the helpful info it has provided.
