How rare are

Black copper marans? I keep seeing that they are rare. are they really rare?

The breed is getting quite popular, but raising them to show quality is pretty hard. Check this thread out:

It is harder to get pullets than roos. I got a roo chick last spring, but never found any girls. He was beautiful but became in creasingly aggressive to us, and attacked our chicken sitter one weekend. So he went to freezer camp at 7 months because we couldn't find him a home for aggressive roos. He might have gotten better as he got older but I doubt it.
