Now I've read plenty of discussions mentioning chickens pecking wounds, so keep wounded chickens away from other chickens..
Well, I took a tumble last weekend and scraped my knee up real good.
That didn't slow me down, I kept my knee wrapped up nice and kept working to get their new coop up as quickly as I could since they were so crowded in the old one....
Well, last night I removed the bandage completely since it's healing nicely and needs to air out now.
I then stepped outside to check on the chickens not even thinking about my wound since I've been around them this whole time anyway!
I was looking in one direction trying to get Smokey to come back over the fence line, when all of a sudden.... OUCH!!! Pepper pecked my scrape
I guess that's the thanks I get for giving them a bigger home
