Hi everyone, this is my first time keeping chickens when I bought my chickens the person I bought them from said that we could exchange any roosters we got. So, today we are going to do that. I've been reading a bit and it seems like introducing new chickens can be complicated. Can anyone give me advice? I will be introducing two or three new hens to four other chickens. They will all be about twelve weeks old.

Temporarily divide the coop and run so they can see but not touch. It may take a few weeks. Observe them carefully and you'll be able to decide how long to separate them.

I just got them and it turns out that I got two new ones that are about one month old. Will that change anything?

I've separated mine anywhere from two days to a week depending on interactions through the fence.
