Hi all....worried about my duck (and the time zone difference between you and me is causing some stress  ).

As the title says "How soon after giving Baytril can I change and give Itraconazole please? 4 days of Baytril have not helped enough, and I now think the problem might be a reaccurance of a fungal infection. She's hardly eating a thing and is stumbling a lot now from lack of energy. She's trying to eat but is clearly having trouble getting anything down her throat. HELP! I've already given her 2mls of Baytril about 2 hours ago.....I'm wanting to start Itraconazole asap. How long do I need to wait?

It night time here now and I've had to put the ducks to bed for the day. Hopefully someone can reply by morning Thai time? Thanks so much.....I'm not sure this girl is gonna make it :hit:hit Once she began walking inside the duck house she just sat in the doorway. I had to pick her up to move her further inside. 20210213_182856.jpg

I've attached some photos and a video above which may help people to assess her situation. The close shot of the back of her head....does it look like her left side is swollen to you?

According to "Plumbs Veterinary Drug Handbook", potential interactions may occur when using an "azole" in conjunction with a fluoroquinolone drug such as Baytril; more specifically, there is a risk of prolongation of QTC intervals, which is characterized by how long the heart takes to recharge after each beat. In consideration of this, you may administer the Itraconazole once the Enrofloxain has reached its half-life and potential interactions are less likely to occur.

Enrofloxacin half-life has not been addressed to a full extent in birds, so numbers are fairly unknown; in cats and dogs, the half-life is near 4-6 hours, so you may aim for that range. Nebulization therapy to decrease the chance of mucosal desiccation may also be beneficial if dealing with aspergillosis.
