Temperatures in my area will soon be in the low 60’s at night. We have 10 chicks that are about 4 weeks old. They are staying in a large brooder right now, but I want to move them into a coop ASAP. I have been letting them out for 4 or 5 hours each day for over a week now. When can I move them into the coop full time?

hello.
i believe you ll need the heat lamp for 8 weeks out in the coop.
does your coop have acess to electrictiy? if so, go ahead put them out there!!
mine are about 5 weeks old... i just put them out in the coop in a cage, seperate from the bigger 1 year layers.
alls been okay at my end!! good luck!

If your coop is draft free, I would say by five to six weeks they could be out there full-time; IF you have been decreasing their brooder temperatures steadily. 90 to 95 the first week, decreasing by 5 degrees a week is the loose rule of thumb.
What would be harmful to them is to go from a warm heated brooder to an unheated coop without any hardening off.
