I noticed my chickens eggs started hatching tonight. The momma it's still sitting on a pile of eggs and once chick. That hatched tonight. Their is a rooster send another hen in the cooper but they are separated atop the other birds can't get to the eggs offer baby. When should I take the chick out and put it in a box under a heat lamp?

Are you hatching with a broody or incubator?

if you’re hatching with a broody then you don’t need any supplemental heat. The momma hen will take care of that.

If hatching from an incubator I would leave it there for a few hours til it’s fluffy and not wet. Check for external pips and only remove it when you see none.

They were with the mom but I want too remove them so the rooster and other chicken don't pick on them.

Let them stay with mom...my mamas are a relentless when it comes to protecting those babies. Plus they care for the babies better than I ever could. My other adult chickens run anytime a baby comes near...they know what happens! 😳
