How soon will all those styrofoam incubators end up in yard sales?

I truly can't believe what an incubator cost to buy if it's a brand name. I have an acquaintance that allows me to incubate eggs in her very large cabinet incubator, and believe me when I say I am grateful, I mean it,... BUT I wish I could just have one at home to incubate chickies myself and not have to feel as if I am imposing. I've seen the DIY plans , here on BYC but guys....Give me a BREAK!, I'm a little old granny!

So ...How long before all those Hovabators and others find there way into thrift shops, consignment stores, or just good old American YARD SALES !!~

I'd make one for you were I closer. See if you can find some homeschool kid to make one for you as a science project.
Or a boy scout for a merit badge.

I never found one. When I was ready to try to incubate eggs, I went to craigslist, searched yardsales, the newspaper...never could find a used one.

In my search for an incubator, I came across plans to build one in a styrofoam box and that's what landed me here at BYC. I used Miss Prissy's Chic Chick bator plans. I just have to say that I'm on my second batch and I'm tickled to death with it. I got 11 chicks out of my first batch of eggs. I'm on my second batch now and out of 14 eggs, 11 have chicks in them and 2 I'm not sure about yet. One had a blood ring, so I couldn't be more pleased with some expensive bator that I paid full price for. I think it cost me about 20 bucks to build it. I have a local friend who bought his brand new and has tried twice with no luck. He has asked me to build him one of these.

The same place as all the used KitchenAid mixers and UPS trucks.

Seriously, the incubator isn't hard to make. PM me if you have questions. I'm on day 14, and all 12 eggs seem to be developing nicely!

Mine took a couple of hours once I had everything together.
