I'm in the process of collecting pallets and other free wood, and some cull wood, for my soon to be started coop. I've built duck coops before, but ducks dont roost they just needed head clearence. What is the minimum height I could make the coop? and what would the roost height need to be to give them enough head room? this will be for 2 large fowl pullets.

I'd leave at least foot or foot and a half above the roost for headroom (if I'm correct in assuming you mean chickens when you say "large fowl pullets.)

It depends on whether or not you plan on getting in to clean or have different doors to access cleaning. Personally, I prefer to be able to get in & walk around. They will roost as high as they can get, so whether it's 4 ft or 6 ft they'll be as close to the top as the roost will allow.
