Hi yall! We started our small flock of 7 in April of this year. When the feed store has buy 1 get 1 on ducks and chicks, we got a small Whitman's sampler. 2 barred rock hens, 1 bantam old english hen, 1 sebright roo, 1 cochin/pekin roo as well as the ducks, 1 mallard drake and 1 cayuga hen. None of this was known at the time of purchase. We are totally new and it's obvious by our mixed flock. It's been quite interesting and educational to say the least.
Our mallard flew the coop and our poor girl needs a pal. She did NOT do well with the chickens like I had hoped. Also I need to figure what I'm doing with my sebright roo. He is getting too big for his britches! He tries to mate with my rocks but I'm afraid he'll never be successful due to his size. He already has little man syndrome.
