So, I have a choice to make and I need some help.

Should I

a) go to a Korean BBQ place

or

b) make a hamburger?

I don't have a grill or I would go to a park and have a solo bbq night. Actually, doing yakiniku solo is equally depressing now that I think about it. Anyways, I am just trying to do my part to represent so far from home...

And yes, there will be fireworks. *snerk* Japan does fireworks like NOBODY'S biz!

I love Korean BBQ (especially hot pork, Kalbi, marinated daikon, marinated potatoes, etc.), so I would go to a Korean BBQ place. In fact, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.)

But is it 'Murrica enough to REALLY celebrate the USA's b-day? If I were going there and getting steaks and ribs, I would totally agree but it is just really wimpy thin cut meat...

On the other hand, frying a hamburger, alone, at home, is more depressing than doing yakiniku alone...

I hear you, and I agree with you. Maybe you can find someone to go with you if you offer to pick up the tab.)

Here is your own personal invitation to watch the biggest firework celebration in the nation. No, it's not in New York City--it's in Music City otherwise known as Nashville, TN! Click on the link (or copy and paste--not sure how this works) and at the bottom of the page in blue are the words "Let Freedom Sing". Click on them and enjoy the show if you can. I don't know what time in Japan that will be, but we're on Central Daylight Savings Time here in Middle Tennessee. Good luck!

Thanks for the invite, I would love to watch but something about watching fireworks on tv is just not as fun...

I'll just wait for August. Most fireworks shows in Japan are 30 minutes to 2 hours at the longest. They are amazing! Plus, it will already be the 5th here!

Oh well, I tried .
