how to arrange eggs in the bator

One more hatching newbie question here.

My egg rack has room for 42 eggs. If I'm only setting 8 or so, would I spread them out or clump them together?

Does it matter? What do others do?

I always put mine right in the middle if I'm only doing a few. Just a personal preference.

It kinda depends on your incubator. If you have a fan to circulate the air and keep temps consistent throughout the incubator, then it really doesn't matter where you place them. I like to place mine more toward the middle, but I have a fan, so it's purely a preference thing for me. Of course, once I remove the turner, I try to place them where I can view them easily through the windows.

If you don't have a fan, then you will want to place them so that they all have relatively equal temps, so it will depend on where your heat element is.

Thanks everyone. I have a fan, so from what you all say I guess it won't matter. I'l probably place them in the middle though becasue it just seems more clutch-like.

With luck, tommorrow I'll get some eggs to put in it.
