How to Assess Interest in Quail Eggs?

My browns weigh around 10 ounces. i have around 20 females from my last batch due to leaving one cage open and my dogs. So i have to bring my numbers up before I start actually advertising to business about quail eggs.

Ouch sorry for that lost. This is Simon8894 btw decided to make a new account. Have you had any success yet in those few months when you had more hens though?

Do you know what type of pens/cages you will be using? I really wanted to raise quail awhile back but gave up because I wasn't able to figure out suitable and cost effective housing for them. (Im not interested in a battery cage situations). Any additional ideas would be great~

Housing for quails is extremely cost effective. Depends on if you want a raised pen or on ground pen.

Like i said i won't particularly advertise to business, So i just go off of craigslist at $2.50 a dozen and if its my friends that wants some $2 for them. well really my numbers look like 14 layings hens and 16 breeder hens with 4 males and I'll sell the fertile eggs for $5 a dozen and seem to sell around 4 or 5 dozen every few weeks.
Other than that I just got my incubator finished with its 360 egg capacity

Look around the forums, me personally I can't see raising quail on the ground (Coturnix) they are just to much of a hassle to keep everything clean and supply the food and water without a big mess.

I agree with you. I will raise cull on the ground no problem cause after you process them you can clean the area. I do like raising quail inside tho the best.

Also my idea now is thagt when i raise a batch all my males will get the ground with fermented feed and a water supply in a attachment cages i got for cheap while the females can go straight into the cage

Do you sell your males or eat them? Also do you sell baby chicks?

Well when I get everything started up
(Within a few more months)
I plan to sell the males for around $2.50/3 live per bird with a extra 50 cents or so for butchering

When I start in about a week incubating
I plan to set 70 eggs or more a week and hatch them and sell them for a 50 cents or $1 each
