Hi y’all,

I’ve recently learned that two of my three chickens are roosters. I got them all as chicks and now they are 2 months old. I am planning on finding a happy home for the silver Sebright rooster and keeping the Pekin bantam rooster. The hen is a rhode island red.

im wondering if the bantam will try to fertilize with the Rhode Island Red even though he’s much smaller? Additionally, I would like to get two more hens. Should I wait until my chickens are older to introduce more hens? I do think it will be difficult to find hens of the same age, so will it be an issue if I introduce two adult hensto the babies? What is the best way to do this?is there anything else I should know or do?
Thanks all!!

He'll still fertilize. We had a OEGB male that tried to mount every hen we had, standard or bantam.

Where do you live? Some people still sell extra hens now, but they may be more expensive because they can be sexed now

Ive pretty faithfully gotten new chicks since March. Some times I get them a couple weeks in a row. I have a group of 2 week old chicks the I introduced to 2 month old chicks. They all got along just fine. 2 of the older ones are bantam cockerel. Plus several standard and bantam pullets. I have to say that I have been unusually lucky with integrating my chickens. I have not had any issues. Ive added several groups of 10-12 week old birds to my adult flock with not a single issue.
