not sure how it works here, but all the other sites I am a member of that have the "ignore" feature, you will see that persons comments if someone quotes them.

On xenforo it works like this:

You also won't see any threads started by someone you have on ignore, unless you click "show ignored content" at the bottom of the page.

Yeah it can be annoying if you want to ignore someone but there's a long-running thread that a lot of other people post on, that you still want to be able to see. Not had an issue with that here but I have on another forum.

Not having the option to ignore individual threads enabled on here is annoying, especially when "new posts" is limited to only four pages. I miss a lot of stuff that way, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Yeah, I agree. And I always get curious and click that button and/or reply sooo

And if someone has responded to me in a belligerent way, having everyone but me able to see it is the worst possible outcome!

Kind of. You won't see anything they say but they can still see what you say and respond to it (you'll just be blissfully unaware?)

We’re all autonomous adults here, right? So everyone gets to decide who is a net negative or net positive in their lives. Even here.
