If I have a broody hen I just shut her up in a pen till she quits wanting to set. No big deal. It does not work for my turkeys. Last year they set a clutch, and when I took the poults away they would not quit wanting to set.
This year I did not want them to go broody at all because of that. So I took away their eggs everyday. So they went broody on one egg. I can not keep them from setting in empty nests. I have tried shutting them up in a different pen. When they are let out they go right back to the empty nests. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get them to quit? I want more eggs. Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks.
