How to break up a broody ...

But you haven't told us what your going to do. Are you going to let her brood some eggs? I vote yes.

Well this morning another BO hen named " Big Momma" went broody, and she is very big so I can fit alot of eggs under her ... should I let her set on abunch? Yes, or no? I also have a Mixed Japanese bantam hen that is seting on eggs ... and maybe a dark conrish but I'm not sure on her.

You know how I feel about letting broodys brood. You should give her as many as you feel you can deal w/ if they hatch. In my case I dont' have a problem if I need to give chicks away. Just not my Dels.

Well, the other hens kept jumping in their nests and made them move so they aren't setting anymore. But I did put 3 more eggs under 1 of my broodys ... don't ask me why ... cause I don't know.

*Sigh*

Your going to have to give her a private place unaccessable to the other hens. When you decide to mover her do it at night.

The hen I gave the eggs to is already in a small hutch away from the other chickens.

But there is another hen on the other side of the wall setting on eggs as well ...
