How to breed blue?

My only white-crested blue Polish hen disappeared, and I'm wondering if I can breed blue into my birds. I have a white-crested black rooster, and white hens. Is it even possible to breed blue?

You need a blue or splash bird to introduce blue. A blue mated to your black male would give 50% black and 50% blue offspring. If he were be bred to a splash all the offspring will be blue.

No one can say what would come from the whites as white hides whatever color genetics the bird carries.
