I know this thread is old, but hoping to get a response....
@RonP I've just read thru this thread about the T-shaped trap with poison inside. It sounds like a viable option but I'm thinking about the squirrels and chipmunks around us that I'd rather not kill. So.... I'm thinking of putting these out only after dark and bringing them in again in the morning. Thoughts?

Also wondering about specific brands of poison bait to use if anyone can speak to that.

Squirrels do not seem to enter the bait stations, I have many on property.

Unfortunately, I have not seen chipmunks around in quite some time...

I am currently using a product called Havoc-XT Blok.

It has a hole in the middle, and is easily secured so the rodent will not carry it out of the station.

As I no longer have a rodent problem, the baits last a long time.

You may try putting the stations where chipmunks and squirrels should not be...
