I have a one-day old chick, born at my house, which has what appears to be multiple leg deformities. Has the curled toes and tendon issues. I have been massaging and stretching his leg about every 30 to 50 minutes, taped the tendon once I got it stretched a little, bandage the toes, vitamins, and feeding by hand. I removed the tape around the tendon last night, because he continued to fall on his back and could not roll over. He is not walking. Sometimes, he kind of hops a little but falls. He is calmed when I hold him and last night (his first night) was loud most of the night. I kept him separate from the others, but later in the night I move one more chick into his box for company. It worked for a little bit. I don’t have the heart to cull him. Any other suggestions?

Gosh, poor little guy. Maybe you could use a toothpick to help keep his leg straighter or as a bit of a crutch. Or you could tape his leg? Good luck with your little guy!

Please can you post a pic of leg?
It could either be "splay leg" or "curled toe paralysis" I don't know until you post a pic.
