A friend of mine that has chickens, guineas and rabbits in coops next to her greenhouse suddenly had two peahens show up eating the feed that had been kicked out of the coops and pens

She left a pen door open overnight with food and water. The next morning the two peahens were in the pen so she shut the door and they are now safe. They appear to be plain india blue and around 1 year old. One is missing it's tail feathers and was limping for a day or two but they are both doing fine now. She has been feeding them Purina Flock Rasier and the first couple days that ate a TON of food.

She can hear a peacock calling from the other side of her pond. He is pretty defening so she thinks he is close by in those woods and not that she is hearing his call from a distance. Plus the first time they saw the hens it was in the area she can hear the peacock. They have not actually seen the him.

Up until the last week they had never heard any peafowl in the area. So she thinks someone either just got them and lost them or they traveled a distance.

She is trying to find the owners and in the meantime would like to catch the peacock so nothing happens to him. Any suggestions on how to catch him?

She already has the two best lures.

I would be careful if I were her about adding those new birds to her existing flock. You never know what a strange bird might be carrying, especially ones who have been out in the wild for a while. Definitely quarantine the peahens for 3 weeks+, don't track from one pen to the other, share supplies, etc.
