How to catch a snake

A friend of mine told me this, haven't tried it myself. He said to put a fish hook on an egg and put wax over it to attach the hook and to cover the barb. Tie a line to the hook and tie the other end to something stationary. When the snake swallows the egg, it "sets" the hook. The snake can't get away and it's egg eating says are over. Anybody ever tried this?

I have also heard the sticky traps for rodents work well but haven't tried them myself.
