How to catch chickensrunning loose?

It is my guess that these are BB Red American games, however the "momma" who is on the eggs is dark, kinda 'mahogony' colored.

A long handled fishing net is my choice. If I were to leave them out until dark, in my area, some predator might be first.

I find that a long-handled net works best for catching chickens. If you can get within 2 feet of them you can catch them with a net.

The roost method is the easiest, if you're lucky enough that they roost low enough to reach. Otherwise, I agree with the long handled fishing net, which I would probably combine with scratch. But i also agree they will become wary of it quickly. Hopefully you will only catch each one once.
