How to choose where a hen lays?

I am moving my hens into my newly converted shed to barn.
and my hens just started laying,thier dropping thier eggs where ever they feel like...I am going to raise about 40 or so more birds,because i wanting to sell eggs at least to pay for the feed,and the next birds i want to raise so that they lay where i want them to.

I put a golf ball in a nest box to try to coax them into laying thier,but they investigated the ball,moved it around a bit,,then next morn, an egg that looked like a hen just layed it where she was standing at the moment.

Is thier a better way?

Since you just moved them to a new home.....If its not too hot...lock them in the coop for 2 days...Make sure they are not overheated. Keep the golf balls, or fake eggs in the nest boxes. They should get the idea.
