How to choose which males to keep for breeding

What an interesting read. Thanks for all your responses. I will definitely keep an extra roo just in case, good idea. I guess I'm really lucky to have a silver bird hatch out from the eggs I got. I want more of them. I read that it is a partial dominant colour, white is recessive so ideally if I want more silvers to mate with another silver or white, but I only have brown. Any guesses as to what colour the babies would be?

If you line bred them for a couple generations you could most likely develop birds that will produce primarily silvers. I'm not the best when it comes to genetics, I've tried to digest it all a couple times but when I put too much info in my head it just runs out all the holes.

Where are you located that you got a silver bird?

I'm in Queensland, Australia. I don't know how common it is to get silver birds here. I'll probably get some white, adult hens soon and see how their babies turn out. Do you know if it's ok breeding a jumbo silver male (approximately 300g) with colossal sized hens (400grams+)?
