How to chose new chickens to add to flock?

Yeah the run and coop were the same size. I have since built an extension off the side to make the run larger but I don't know how much space it adds. I didn't really measure it. But I will.

I think when we move we make a priority of the property to have enough space for the chooks. We would be looking at houses with backyard to accommodate the dogs and chickens. Happy to pay extra for a lovely yard!

While there are no guarantees on personality/ behavior, some breeds are more likely to be docile or the opposite.

in my experience, all with many standard breeds-no bantams, the Salmon Faverolles are very pretty and VERY docile and laid back. As in…they will not defend themselves if attacked, they are chill and will sit there and allow you to pick them up. They come in bantam size. Their colors will be a nice contrast to the D’Uccles.

good luck!

Thanks! Salmon Faverolles sound ideal! And looking pretty certainly doesn't hurt.

I'm extending my run this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to progress with new family members soon :)
