What is the best way to clean hatching eggs without removing the bloom? We are entering muddy season and I am finding that a simple dry sponge is not cutting it. Can you incubate eggs with a little dried mud/poop that just wont come off?

Thanks in advance :)

I did a while experiment with this. I washed 1/2 the eggs and didn't wash the other half, washing made no difference at all. I filled a Dixie cup half peroxide and half warm water. I used a cotton ball.
What if I ship hatching eggs? Do you think washing them is still safe? I feel like of the purpose of the bloom is to protect the chick then I should leave it intact at all costs.
