[I have WHAT in my yard?]

My coop and run are right outside my bedroom window. (I know I'm not too bright!)

So, I was upstairs when I heard them fussing so I called out the window, "Hey gang, cool it!"

They all ran to the run door!! They were craning their necks looking for me to come around the corner of the house!!

It was clear they heard me and clear they were hoping it meant treats or free time! So I called to them again and they ran around and around trying to figure out where the sound was coming from!!

OK so I am easily amused. It took a while but the roo finally figured it out and started cocking his head sideways to look up at me!!

Silly chooks, they do make me laugh.

Luna, it's gotten so if I look out my dining room window, my 4 girls all run to the end of the run to see what I may be bringing out. I have to be a stealth stalker if I want to take a peek of them while inside the house.

Mine are right outside my bedroom window as well. Every morning I let them out, then do my chores. As soon as I open my bedroom door they race each other to that side and start cheeping at me waiting for me to toss them something.

Aren't they funny? It's so obvious, they have acute hearing and yet when you want them to do something, they are deaf. hmmm kind of like kids.

My MILs leghorn has decided she's one of the dogs and that, even though THEY aren't allowed in the house, SHE is. So she marches in the door any chance she gets and hops up on the nearest person, all proud of herself.

Chickens are a hoot!

For your next human trick, try playing the sound of a rooster crowing where your roo can hear it, but not see where it's coming from. It ticks them off so bad! I do it to Thor regularly.

Okay, so I'm easily amused too.

Funny stuff! We have a hen who likes to set in the window sill at dinner time and peck at the pane of glass--the window is right next to the dinner table. Break in case of emergency? I guess spaghetti might be an emergency to a chicken--look at all the worms the humans have in their coop! And they're not sharing!

We also live near both the hospital and the police station, so we hear our fair share of sirens. Our roo thinks those sirens are giant roosters from outer space, I think. Or maybe God speaking to him from the sky. Sets him crowing like noting else! I can only imagine what must be going on in that bird brain of his . . .

I sympathize with you for the noise. We have our goats loose in our yard right now (partly because they won't stay in their pen

).

They think they need to be fed EVERY morning as soon as the sun comes up... They'll go right outside our bedroom door (we have french doors) and MMMAAAAAAAAA MAAAAAAAAAA until we get up to feed them!

It's been getting earlier every morning, too. When they first started pestering us, they wouldn't pester us until about 8am... and we usually fed them well before that time. Then it moved to 7:30, then to 7, then to 6:30, so on and so forth.... Silly goats need to learn to sleep in!!!

To make matters worse, we're dog sitting for a friend right now, and her dogs are staying outside in the kennel. Right by where we feed the goats. Well, her ill-behaved mutts think that they should get to go out when we wake up. So not only do we get to feed the goats every morning at dawn, we also get to walk some worthless mutts!! (I'm just bitter because we can't let the dogs loose to exercise because they'll attack the goats and the chickens!)

Oh well... gotta love animals.
