How to convince 11 and 15 year old girls to cull/sell?

Well I pitched the idea last night. was kind of surprised by the response. Everyone wants to eat the rooster!

As far as the hens they wern't thrilled about being either knowingly or unknowingly mislead. So they are happy to sell them as silkie mutts and if they don't rehome they get processed with the meat birds in a month. Discussion also lit the fire to get the chicks listed for sale.

I have a feeling the girls will be much more picky next time and will spend the time to do their own assessment of breed quality rather than taking the sellers word.

It's been my experience that most people have no problem giving up of a mean rooster even if it is cute.

I'm sure they'll have better luck with the next chickens they get now that they know better how to judge the quality of the birds.
