I will have ducklings coming in May... and when they start laying was wondering how to cook them for breakfast..
We were visiting at the resthome and hubby was telling the ladies about my ducks... And one of the ladies said duck eggs were tough.. I don't think this is right if they are cooked properly..
Hubby likes his chicken eggs fried.. I like them either way..
I use cheese when I do chicken eggs scrambled and sometimes alittle milk.

I also look forward to using them for baking..

If you feed your ducks the same food that you would feed chickens, the eggs taste the same. If the ducks have pond access and eat some pond wildlife, you'll get a stronger tasting egg.
My ducks free range during the day on grass/bugs, and eat layer crumbles each evening. Their eggs taste just like chicken eggs and appear the same except the yolk is larger.

There are alot of posts about how duck eggs, and one of the reasons why I got a few ducks along with my chickens. I haven't heard anything about them being "tough" maybe she was talking about the shell being tough to crack, but the texture is creamier and they are to be richer in taste. They are choice for baking, and that's what I love to do!! My ducks aren't even a week old yet so it will be awhile til I'll have my own eggs, but in the meantime, they sure are cute!!!

I never was much of an egg eater.. Little allergic to them..

I did not know my daughter was allergic until this past Easter season.. The wife gives them to the daughter and when she was over I asked her how she liked them..

She stated that they didn't make her "burp" like chicken eggs did and that they tasted really good..

The wife also like them better than chicken eggs.. Said that they tasted a lot better..

I still have not tried one yet...

When I eat an egg I have to have fried potatos, a piece of meat, along with toast.. Then I don't get nauseous..

A little drier than a chicken egg. Add some water. Otherwise, not much difference. A think a bit richer and the yolk is more orange. Enjoy!

Thank you everyone.. for replying.. sorry I haven't been back on.. We had the washing maching leaking for some reason so spent about 3 to 4 hours helping hubby run a snake in and out of a pipe... to get the clog out... We had water in hot water heater closet and in the garage.. Luckily caught it before it got to hard wood floor pas the fire place!!!!!
