How to cure scaly leg?

Hello. I have noticed that quite a few of my hens have got scaly leg, which is I believe when a parasite gets under the scales in the chickens legs. It causes discomfort and does anyone know how to cure it? Thanks

Coat the legs in vaseline every other day for about 10 days. It will kill the mites.

Yep any oil substance, I think some even use wd40. I have never used it so I don't know how well it works. Do a search, it should bring up tons of good info.

I have used WD40 as well as vasoline. I also recommend a product called VetRx for poultry

The idea is to drown the little suckers, so anykind of oil will work from WD40 to used motor oil. Two applications about 2 weeks apart are usually all that`s needed. Be sure to rub it in on ALL your chickens legs. Then spray your roosts with WD40. Mites hide in the cracks in the wood.........Pop

We use Sweet Oil. Totally harmless to the birds but the mites are in for trouble! Plus it doesn't smell funny
