How to deal with dead chickens

Haven't had to deal with any of my chickens dieing yet but I know it will happen sometime from old age or sickness .. my question is how and what is best and most common way to (discard) of the chicken?

We normally burn or bury them away from the other chickens, depending on the weather.

I bury them deep, away from the coop.

I burn them, we have cats and dogs so I wouldn't want them to dig up any carcasses.
