How to determine sex of turkeys?

Congradulations! By spring you should be getting eggs and Royal Palm poults to add to the family, Or at least by summer!

I hope so! Plus my mother wants to get Mannie at least 1 or 2 more hens. Rotten boy! We have always loved Royal Palms, one of the favorite breeds.

Yay! I have a pair! My first Turkey pair ever! I love my Mannie and Spider, both Royal Palms. And only 2 months difference between them, Mannie is about 7 months and Spider is 5 months. I was worried Mannie wasn't a boy, but he gobbles like crazy. Can't wait for him to get his beard!
My tom is already showing signs of a beard, and was when we first got him at 4 months old! He's also royal palm.

Tom also likes to peer into our windows... Like a peeping tom.

I have 4 Brown African geese and they are very noisy and lead my 150 ducks around like a parade, and when they see me they honk for the ducks to come eat. They are not nearly as curious as my turkeys. They warn me if a stranger comes around. Other than that, they are content to swim and walk around chatting and honking. The turkeys, on the other hand, are into everything. They have learned to open feedbags, make corn come out of an automatic deer feeder, took several of a repairman's tools and ate his screws, he was using.

I find mine more curious than all of my chickens, ducks, and geese put together! Maybe it's in the breed, but mine are very gentle. But my turkeys are very nosy and into everything and extremely intelligent!!

Yeah my turkeys are a bit more curious than my geese, but they are pretty close!

My geese love to eat my clothing. I caught Rosa running around the yard with my red sweater in her mouth. :rant

Silly girls!

I have my first turkeys and find them everything you described Celie.
They seek out my company and lately come look for me
by coming on my front porch and looking in a livingroom window for me.
They are just hilarious and won't be on my dinner table that's for sure.
Love them!
