I didn't think to photograph the mother. She is a typical OEGB red or black-breasted red.

I should have explained that the roosters are not really Red Junglefowl. That's what they call them here and supposedly they decend from RJF that arrived in Hawaii with the original Polynesiam voyagers over a thousand years ago. But surely, there has been introgression of more modern chickens since then. Actually, genomic testing indicates that all RJF worldwide have baan cross-bred at some point. It is all just a matter of degrees. Ours have normal RJF (+) coloring including white ear lobes and slate legs. They have the truncated call. But, the tail carriage is higher and, of course, they have lost the eclipse plummage of a real RJF..
