How to disinfect chicken coop?

Unless you had some type of parasite, lice, or some other unwanted pest I doubt it really "needs" to be disinfected. I do understand that some people (maybe you?) feel better about disinfecting their coups, but really not necessary.
Whats wrong with being pro-active?? Smh

F10sc is a commercial Veterinary Disinfectant that is effective and safe for birds, dogs, cats, humans..... most any mammal. Has minimal odour. Kills viruses, bacteria, fungi and spores.

It's a concentrate you mix into a sprayer. Apply for appropriate dwell period and leave to let dry, or rinse off.

Instructions allow for different mix levels. 1:500, 1:250, or 1:125. Depending on purpose. So 1 litre makes quite a bit.

Edit: oops..... just saw this was an epic thread necro

We use Tea Tree Oil that's safe for consumption, it's a natural insect repellent and disinfectant and makes the coop smell good too, lasts a long time. We also do a cleanout twice a year and I spray the coop down with Permethrin, and no problems with bugs every. There are several essential oils that are safe to use around chickens and humans that work very well.
