How to do a hatch-a-long?

I am going to be getting 12 silkie eggs on Monday and would like to do a hatch-a-long but I don’t really know how to do one. Any advice excepted!

But the basics, mark your eggs (most people use numbers), pick a theme (can be literally anything, I chose tomatoes for my first one) and make a post. Then update the post as you want (most people update when they candle, or if something happens)

Is it ok to mark them with sharpies? I have heard some people say yes and some say no.

Lots of people use sharpies without any problems. I used sharpie to number mine and a dry erase marker to mark the eggs I wasn't sure of as they were developing
