I got my first Buttons from Jodi, too. Some take longer than others to start laying... I had one start at 6 weeks, another not until almost 10 weeks. The white that I thought was a female turned out to be a male, so there were two males with one female instead of the other way around. Just be patient. They like to "get it on" when no one is looking.
I set all of the first 19 eggs they laid, and all but 4 were fertile, and I'd never seen any hanky panky going on. Just be patient...
