how to feed my birds when I leave for a week

Take a bucket with lid. Cut holes around bottom. Place it in a pan. Auto feeder. That is what I have. 5 gallon bucket. Same for water one hole set it and you got a auto waterer. Or I also got a 55 gallon barrell with hose and a float valve in a water bowl. I don't have pictures of mine but got the ideal off here. Do a search and you will find it.

You can put in apple sider vin. in to keep alge out.

Even if you don't have the kids come out every day, maybe they could come out every other day. If they come out in numbers, or have mom/dad drive them, they should be safe from the neighbor. It doesn't take much for a waterer to be tipped/ emptied, and while a few hours without water may not be bad, you could come home to calamity if something happens to them early in the vacation.
