How to fix curlled foot?

If the toes are curled, gently straighten and place the foot in a normal position on a piece of masking tape (or a bandaid) sticky side up, then place a piece of clear packing tape on top of that. Trim to make a chick slipper or bootie that holds the toes straight and in place--as they would be normally. Leave on for several days. The foot should straighten.

also...are you giving vitamins?
is it being bullied away from feed and water?

sometimes this is a nutritional/vitamin deficiency.

separate, or divide the brooder, and put in another chick with it.
make sure the chick is eating and drinking.
and try some vitamins.

One of the day olds we picked up yesterday has this problem. Her she is modeling her stylish new shoe. I have named her Lady Slipper.

isn't she a sweetie?

could I make a suggestion?

you might try something less slippery then newspaper to help prevent Spraddle legs..
such as ribbed paper towels
some people use that rubber type kitchen cabinet liner..non-skin..easy to wash and reuse.

hoe she does well..and the toes straighten out.
