How to get a rooster not to breed hens

Hi, I do NOT have a rooster but this is a question because I might get one in a few years and I do NOT want it to breed with my hens and make chicks so what would i have to put on a rooster so that is doesn't breed with the hens I want a rooster only for protection. I don't want fertile eggs either.

I don't think that's possible unless you keep them separated. An animals gotta do what an animals gotta do lol

Separation or head removal will work.

You can still eat the fertile eggs. Chicks will hatch if you incubate the eggs or let the broodies hatch them.
You will need to keep the rooster separate from the flock 24/7 but chickens aren’t healthy being by themselves.

You can't make a rooster not breed with hens. As the male in the flock, it is his job to create offspring. If you don't want fertile eggs, then don't get a rooster.

Since the rooster wound need to be with the ladies in order to protect them yet he can’t be with them because he would breed with them, a better option would be to not get the rooster but maybe a guard dog.

To my knowledge, its a rooster instictual duty to mate and look after the flock. The only way you will get the chicks is if you have a broody hen sit on the eggs or you incubate the eggs (for 21 days). There is no problem with eating fresh fertile eggs.. Otherwise you might want to look for another flock guardian.like a goose... But those can be loud and I don't have much experience with them to say otherwise.
