How to get chickens to like you..

Will the more time I spend with the chicks make them more "people friendly" as they grow up? I want friendly chickens.
Any suggestions to get them to bond?

My chickens are kind of like my labs......the best way to their heart is through their stomach

mine love me when I have treats! But love of handling and just holding them as they sleep as chicks seemed to help mine bond well to me.

I hand feed treats as well, and talk to them often so they know my voice. Even my shyest (silver laced wyandotte) seems to be warming up, she doesn't scream so much when I approach her now, and will climb onto my hand to eat whatever I'm offering.

As chicks I didn't hold mine much. Rhode Island Reds & Bard Rock. Whenever they are free ranging and I bring them a treat, I make a noise they are now familiar with. This is when they come running. As time went by they just come when they see me walking in the yard or sitting on the deck. Treats or not. I can also just reach down and pick them up as they are very friendly. Can't say the same for my Guinea Hens though.
