How to get chickens to use laying boxes

Hello

We have 3-4 month old chickens that have started laying eggs. We have found a few in random places in the coop and yard. So we placed them in the nesting boxes. At night-early morning we have the girls locked in the coop with the boxes. Does anyone have any other suggestions to get them to lay in the boxes in the future?

You could try and put golf balls or nest eggs in the boxes. This might show them where to lay their eggs.

You can pick up wooden eggs at a craft store or online (e.g. Amazon).
